After graduating from medical school in Iran, Dr. Neshatian started a research-based Masters degree in GI physiology at the University of Toronto. She had the opportunity to accompany her mentor, Dr. Nicholas Diamant, in his motility practice. Her research and clinical experience further sparked interest in training in gastroenterology and motility so she then pursued GI fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester where she quickly learned about pelvic floor pathologies and management and realized the unmet need for such clinical expertise. She applied for a scholarship through the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Association and had a focused pelvic floor training with Dr. Satish Rao in Augusta, GA. Dr. Neshatian's clinical and research interests have been focused on functional and motility GI disorders, especially functional defecatory dysfunction in women.
