Fasiha Kanwal, MD, MSHS, is a Professor in Medicine and the Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston, TX. Dr. Kanwal also serves as one of the Core Directors for the NIH-funded Digestive Disease Center (Texas Medical Center) and the Associate Director for the T-32-funded Research Training Program in Gastroenterology. Dr. Kanwal's research work has been recognized nationally and she is regarded as an authority in health services research within digestive diseases especially viral hepatitis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular cancer. She serves as the Editor-in-Chief for Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology (CGH).
