Jill Gaidos, MD, FACG, is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Vice Chief of Clinical Research in the section of Digestive Diseases and the Medical Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) Program at Yale University. Dr. Gaidos completed her medical school, internal medicine internship and residency training at the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, VA. She completed her Gastroenterology Fellowship Training and the Advanced Postgraduate Program in Clinical Investigation at the University of Florida in Gainesville. She then returned to VCU where she was on faculty for 9 years serving as the Director of IBD, Director of GI Clinics, Associate Program Director / VA Site Director for the GI Fellowship program and Deputy Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Richmond VA Medical Center. While in Richmond, she established a national program employing telehealth to provide comprehensive IBD care to veterans around the country. She also was actively involved in the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation in Virginia and nationally as a member of the Professional Education Committee. Dr. Gaidos is also well known nationally through her work in the American College of Gastroenterology, including Chairing the Women in GI Committee, serving as Co-Director for the Bridging the Leadership Gap in GI Conference in 2020, chairing educational meetings and lecturing throughout the country on IBD. She has tremendous experience in IBD clinical research, running more than a dozen clinical trials in IBD. At Yale, Dr. Gaidos has worked to grow the IBD clinical trials program while continuing to manage complex patients with IBD, including those who have been treated with multiple medications, patients with difficult to manage IBD, and patients with concerns about pregnancy and IBD.
