Guilherme G. Macedo, MD, PhD, MACG (he/him/his)

Guilherme Macedo, MD, PhD, MACG, is the Head of the Gastroenterology Department, Centro Hospitalar S.Joao, and Professor of Gastroenterology at University of Porto Medical School. He is the Director of the Porto WGO Gastroenterology and Hepatology Training Center, WGO Immediate Past President, and Member of the WGO Train The Trainers Committee and Liver Interest Group. Dr. Macedo is the Past President of the Portuguese Society of Gastroenterology, of the Portuguese Society of Endoscopy and Portuguese Association for the Study of Liver Diseases. He is currently the President of the Portuguese Hepatology Medical Board. Dr. Macedo was awarded the ACG 2015 International Leadership Award, and Master of ACG in 2022.
