Jeffrey Lee, MD, MPH, FACG, is currently a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Gastroenterology of the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. He also serves as the Medical Director of Endoscopy and Director of Advanced Endoscopy and has served as the President for Texas Society of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy. Dr. Lee completed a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University Of California, Davis. Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy at Harvard Medical School where he also completed his education in public health. He then served as faculty at Yale University School of Medicine until he decided to join MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Lee’s main academic interests include diagnosing and staging of various gastrointestinal malignancies, gallbladder cancer, biliary and pancreatic diseases, and state-of-the art advances in the use of endoscopy as a therapeutic tool. He served as the Chair of the ASGE ERCP Committee, served on the ACG International Relations Committee, and on and Annual Scientific Program Committee of Digestive Disease Week. He currently serves as a member on the ACG Training Committee, and as member of DDW Hands-on Training Committee of ASGE. Widely published with more than 250 articles in peer-reviewed journals, Dr. Lee has written articles on topics, such as endoscopic ultrasound and fine-needle aspiration in unexplained bile duct strictures, pancreatic endosonography after Bilroth II gastrectomy, use of metallic biliary stents in resectable pancreatic cancer, EUS and ERCP in one session. He has also lectured extensively at the national meetings (DDW and ACG) and international meetings, professional association meetings, academic forums, hospital grand rounds, and live-endoscopy courses.
