Julie Yang, MD, FACG, is the Director of the Comprehensive GI Cancer Program at Maimonides Health in New York. Her clinical interests are in the diagnosis and treatment of complicated pancreaticobiliary disorders, neuroendocrine tumors, hereditary gastrointestinal syndromes such as familial polyposis, and in the resection of gastrointestinal lesions by minimally invasive, endoscopic approaches. Prior to joining Maimonides Health, Dr. Yang was the Director of Endoscopic GI Cancer Services and Outreach, and Associate Director of the Carcinoid and Neuroendocrine Tumor Center at Mount Sinai. She was also the Director of Therapeutic Endoscopy at Montefiore Medical Center and Associate Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Yang has served on several national GI committees, including the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Standards of Practice and Technology, the Collaborative Group of the Americas on Inherited Gastrointestinal Cancers Education committee, and committee chair for Women in Endoscopy. She lectures regionally and nationally on several topics related to advanced endoscopy, and is dedicated to teaching the next generation of gastroenterologists.
