Vonda Reeves, MD, MBA, FACG, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Millsaps College and went on to pursue a medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. She completed both her internship and residency in Internal Medicine and her fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She is board certified in Gastroenterology. In addition to working at GI Alliance, she is is a community activist, severina as Vice-Chair of Jackson Redevelopement Authority, having assisted in acauisitionof over $22 million dollars in municiple renovation and renewal from local, state, and federal sources. She is Vice President of Boy Scouts of America for Central Mississippi. She has extensive research experience, and has received numerous faculty appointments including the Association of Black Women Physicians, the American Women's Medical Association and the American Gastroenterological Association. She has done extensive research in motility disorders and HIV-related conditions of the gut. She was awarded the Women in Medicine Leadership Award for Central Mississippi last month. She is a ferious advocate for patients's rights, fair pricing for medications and insurance for all.
