Amandeep Shergill, MD, MS, FACG, is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology at the University of California, San Francisco, and is based at the San Francisco VA Medical Center, where she is the Director of Endoscopy. Dr. Shergill's research interests focus on endoscopic ergonomics. She earned a MS in Environmental Health Science with a focus on Ergonomics at University of California, Berkeley after receiving the 2008 ASGE Career Development Award and Endoscopic Research Award. She co-founded the UCSF/UCB Center for Ergonomic Endoscopy with Dr. Carisa Harris-Adamson. The center’s mission is to understand the mechanisms that cause work related musculoskeletal disorders in endoscopsits and to design and evaluate equipment, tools or work practices that reduce the risk of injury and optimize human performance.
