Raymond K. Cross, MD, MS, FACG, is a board-certified gastroenterologist. He is a Professor of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD. He also serves as Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Cross received his undergraduate degree from Washington and Jefferson College and his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland, where he was chosen as Chief Resident. He performed his Gastroenterology fellowship also at the University of Maryland. Dr. Cross obtained a Master of Science degree in Clinical Research at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine. Dr. Cross is a Fellow of the ACG and AGA and is a Professional Member of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. He is Co-Chair of the Clinical Research Alliance, Deputy Director of SPARC IBD Research and Investigator Engagement and past Chair of the Clinical Awards and Patient Education Committee of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. He is Associate Editor for the American Journal of Gastroenterology and Scientific Co-Director for the Corevitas IBD Registry. Dr. Cross has authored over 190 journal articles, reviews, and book chapters. His research interests include the application of telemedicine in the care of patients with IBD, disparities, outcomes research, and clinical trials.
