Jana Al Hashash, MD, MSc, FACG, is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Florida. She is a gastroenterologist and a specialist in the diagnosis and management of patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). She is a physician scientist interested in clinical and translational research related to IBD. She has published over 250 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts, a number of book chapters, and is an author and section editor on several chapters related to the medical management of ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease in UpToDate. Dr. Al Hashash is an ACG Fellow, AGA Fellow, and a member of the Crohn's Colitis Foundation. She serves on numerous committees including the ACG Professional Education Committee, AGA Clinical Practice Update Committee, as well as the National Scientific Advisory Committee (Professional Education Committee) of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. She is a member of the Chapter Medical Advisory Committee for the Central and Northern Florida Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. Dr. Al Hashash has received numerous prestigious awards and honors for her teaching, research, and clinical care including the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society award, AUB Faculty of Medicine Humanism and Professionalism Physician Award, Mayo Clinic’s Early Career Investigator award, Mayo Clinic’s Patient Experience Top Performing Provider Award among many other recognitions and awards.
