Philip K. Henderson, DO, graduated with highest honors at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri. He went on to complete his internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at the University of South Alabama. He then underwent fellowship training in transplant hepatology at the University of Alabama Birmingham. Upon completion of his fellowship, he returned to the University of South Alabama as an Assistant Professor of Medicine. Dr. Henderson holds a joint faculty position as an Instructor of Surgery in the Division of Transplant Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He began a joint liver transplant clinic with the University of Alabama Division of Transplant Surgery. Since that time, Dr. Henderson has been an associate as well as interim division chief of the University of South Alabama. He now is the medical director for liver transplantation at the University of South Alabama. He holds a joint faculty appointment as an assistant professor of surgery at the University of South Alabama where he serves as key clinical faculty for surgical endoscopy as well as liver transplantion. Dr. Henderson is a member of ACG, AASLD, and the American College of Physicians.
