Amy Oxentenko, MD, FACG, is a Professor of Medicine and Vice Dean of Mayo Clinic Practice. She completed IM Residency, Chief Residency, and GI Fellowship at Mayo Clinic Rochester. After joining faculty, she served as PD of Mayo’s GI Fellowship/Advanced GI Fellowship Programs, then IM Residency PD, and serving as Associate Chair for Education for GI and the DOM. Dr. Oxentenko transitioned to Chair of Medicine at Mayo Clinic Arizona in 2020 and Vice Chair of Mayo Clinic’s Clinical Practice Committee across Mayo Clinic sites, then into the role of Vice Dean of Mayo Clinic Practice. She is the past Chair of ACG’s Women in GI and Finance Committees and served on ACG’s Training, Educational Affairs, Professionalism, and Credentialing Committees. She Co-Created/Co-Chaired ACG's Train-the-Trainer USA Program and was Vice Chair for WGO's Train-the-Trainer Program. She served as a Senior Associate Editors for the American Journal of Gastroenterology. Dr. Oxentenko is a member of ACG's Board of Trustees/Executive Team, and served as ACG President, 2024-2025. She has been heavily involved in CME, serving as prior Co-Director of Mayo’s GI Board Review Course and Co-Editor for Mayo's GI Board Review Book. Dr. Oxentenko has written for GI MKSAP 14 and 15 and was GI Book Editor for MKSAP 16 and 17, and GI content writer for the IM In-Training Examination. Dr. Oxentenko has Chaired the ACG Self-Assessment Test Subcommittee. She was on the ACGME IM Review Committee for 8 years, serving as Vice Chair. Dr. Oxentenko has received Mayo’s Department of IM Distinguished Contributions to Medical Education Award, Mayo Clinic School of GME Program Director of the Year Award, Minnesota’s ACP Laureate Award, and Mayo Clinic Distinguished Educator Award. Dr. Oxentenko was named Healio GI 2020 Woman Disruptor of the Year and a “top 100 alumni” by her undergraduate alma mater.
