Melissa Latorre Debordeaux, MD, MS, is the Section Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at NYU Langone Health’s Manhattan Campus. She is a GI hospitalist, and her research focuses on improving the quality and efficiency of inpatient GI care. She is passionate about incorporating novel technology into the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal bleeding. She received her undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Duke University and her medical degree from the State University of New York - Downstate Medical Center. She completed her internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at New York Presbyterian - Columbia University Medical Center. She has a Master’s degree in patient-oriented research from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
